Guia de Isora Holidays
Explore Guia de Isora
Guia de Isora is an area of Tenerife's west coast which lies in the shadows of Mount Teide and overlooks the neighbouring island of La Gomera.
The eponymous town is located 5km inland from the coast. Some of its streets, lined with pastel-coloured low-rise buildings, are barely wide enough for cars, whilst tiny squares feature pretty churches and the welcome shade of palm trees. There are bars and restaurants with a typically Canarian feel.
Down on the coast there are two main settlements Playa San Juan, with its promenade and harbour, and Alcala, a fishing village which is popular with windsurfers, both with sand and pebble beaches.
The scenery here is quite dramatic and there are some great panoramic vistas to be had of Tiede and La Gomera.
