Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa (red) trains offer four classes of accommodation: standard, premium, business and executive. All Frecciarossa services have free WiFi and power sockets at all seats, are air-conditioned and most have a waiter-service bar car open to all passengers. Business class features a designated quiet car and also salottinos: two fully-enclosed four-seat rooms, ideal for families or small groups. Executive class offers eight super-comfortable leather reclining seats at one end of the train with their own dedicated steward, complimentary cold tray, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and use of lounges at main stations. Frecciargento (silver) trains are air-conditioned with a refreshment trolley and bar car. All seats have power sockets for laptops and mobiles and there are two classes, second or first. Frecciabianca (white) trains are air-conditioned and have a refreshment trolley; some have a bar car. First and second classes are offered.
Italo operates two train types, AGV and EVO, both with similar classes and facilities. Italo trains feature seats in four classes: Smart, Comfort, Prima and Club Executive. All classes offer leather reclining seats, air-conditioned carriages, ample legroom, free WiFi, power sockets. Smart is still classy and offers great value for money. Comfort means more room, and Prima adds complimentary wine, and snacks served from a trolley and meals that can be ordered to your seat. Club Executive features an open saloon with 11 seats and two intimate compartments of 4 seats called salottinos, ideal for families or small groups. Each seat also has a small fold-out touch-screen television, meals can be ordered to your seat, and there are the services of a dedicated steward, complimentary drinks and the use of Club Italo Lounges at main stations.
