Explore Garachico

Garachico is a sleepy, traditional Canarian town which hugs the rugged north coast of Tenerife and overlooks the small rocky island from which it takes its name.

The seafront offers volcanic coves rather than beaches, which perhaps explains the dearth of large hotels. Instead, there are charming whitewashed houses either side of narrow cobblestone streets.

Behind Garachico there are deep valleys and verdant slopes in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Garachico has had a chequered and turbulent history which has seen the town deal with floods, fires, plagues and volcanic eruptions.
