Santa Margherita Ligure Holidays

There's something elegantly old-fashioned and charming about Santa Margherita Ligure; the graceful, well-established seafront hotels, the palm fronds caught on the balmy breeze along the esplanade, the clink of bottles and glasses as smart waiters in pressed linen aprons tend to their clientele.

Tourism is part of Santa Marghita's everyday life, but it's not overshadowed by it. It is also a real Italian town. As well as yachts, the harbour is home to a small fishing fleet. Bars, cafes, gelaterias and restaurants are spread along the seafront but there are supermarkets and general stores too.There are parks, gardens and churches to explore and plenty to see and do. And further afield there are boat trips to Portofino and train journeys to the Cinque Terre.
