Perched on a headland overlooking the Indian ocean, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Cape Weligama is a luxurious resort hotel and an impeccable choice for those seeking a sumptuous stay with incomparable views. Spread over twelve acres of tropical gardens the guest accommodation of villas and suites mirrors the appearance of a traditional Sri Lankan village. Fine cuisine is served in the choice of five restaurants, and further cliff-edge dining venues are available for special occasions. The gastronomy in each is gourmet, and a fusion of flavours from east and west captures the very best of the region.
The impressive crescent shaped infinity pool follows the curve of the headland, giving superb views of the coastline. The resort is also home to other pools, a gym, kids' club and water sports centre, where everything from diving and surfing to dolphin watching and big game fishing trips can be arranged. Cape Weligama has direct access to two beaches, while a reef provides safe conditions for swimming.
A dedicated spa villa at Cape Weligama offers a tempting array of treatments, many incorporating tea leaves, and locally sourced cinnamon. For a little active relaxation, yoga and Pilates can also be practiced from a magnificent cliff-top location.

Tableau offers an intimate, chef’s table dining experience, where guests and chefs share an open kitchen space. The menu changes on a daily basis determined by the catch of the day and the freshest local ingredients.

Enjoying a breathtaking cliff-top location, this daytime venue serves inventive cocktails and a fusion menu of Asian and Latin flavours. As well as a splendid view of the ocean, The Surf Bar features a pool table and a table tennis table.
Open: 11:30am to 7:30pm, with food served 12:00-4:00pm.
This intimate cliff-top lounge bar offers inventive tea-infused cocktails, other innovative beverages and the chance to enjoy the Dilmah Ceylon High Tea of finger sandwiches, scones with home-made jams, cakes and carefully crafted, locally sourced tea.
Kumbuk Café offers traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts, in traditional surroundings, such as milk rice with mung beans and rice flakes infused with coconut.

The dedicated spa villa offers manicures and full body treatments. Many of the oils, scrubs and scents used in the therapies incorporate native Sri Lankan ingredients, including Ceylon tea and cinnamon. The spa has an outdoor relaxation deck and therapies can also be administered in the guest suites and villas.
There is no shortage of swimming pools at Cape Weligama and two beaches are accessible directly from the resort via cliff staircases. The protective reef means that sea swimming is safe. There’s a Cybex gym and bicycles are available to hire for exploring the local area. The resort runs a variety of fitness camps for those who want to take the opportunity to get in shape, including HIIT Bootcamps and POP Pilates. The adventure centre at Cape Weligama offers diving courses, surfing lessons, sea kayaking, canoing, paddle boarding and body boarding. Excursions can also be organised, including big game fishing, cruises and dolphin and whale watching. Cliff-top decks are for yoga, meditation and Pilates classes against a relaxing ocean backdrop.
The supervised kids’ club at Cape Weligama offers young children an array of activities to help make their days special. A range of activities are organised on a daily basis, while a wide selection of toys and books offering further opportunities for play and education. Jungle Nook Kids’ Club is for children aged between two and eight years, with a maximum capacity of eight children at any one time. Open daily from 9:00am-6:00pm
