When it’s time to quench your thirst after a day by the pool the pool terrace is the most convenient way. Swap your sun lounger for a deckchair and indulge in a fabulous lunch. The extensive hot and cold buffet is full of delights and specialities from the grill.

The Garden Room has fantastic views over the pool and sea. It offers an ideal place to start the day made even more special by the attentive and friendly staff. Delicious buffet breakfasts are served with fresh juices and champagne.

A favourite British tradition brought to life in Madeira. Choose from delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and homemade pastries accompanied by a choice of 24 teas or an indulgent glass of champagne.

Start the day early with an invigorating work out or head to the gym for a light stretch after a day relaxing by the pool. The fully equipped gym with everything you need is available free of charge to guests as well as the sauna and steam room for a refreshing finish. The hotel has two tennis courts and tuition available Monday to Friday 9am – 1pm (advance booking is required). Guests can also enjoy hiking, boat excursions, water sports and golf organised from the hotel.

Not only a paradise for adults but for children as well, Belmond Reid’s palace caters to every small detail to ensure every guest has the ultimate experience. Small touches such as a welcome teddy bear for every child, specially decorated linen and furniture, special kids toiletries and children’s menus makes them feel special, they won’t want to leave. Fun@reids for children ages 3 – 9 is supervised by ‘Reid’s Angels’ child-minders, activities include the indoor play space, thatched play house and tennis courts as well as a dedicated children’s pool. For the older children and teens Fun@Reid’s Teens club has a soundproofed technology room with Wii consoles, Playstations, Macs and internet access to keep them entertained, and a great way to meet new friends.
