Constance Moofushi, Maldives

Sitting on an island of sugar white sand and surrounded by tropical marine life, Constance Moofushi is located on a smaller island which nonetheless offers plenty of pristine, natural beaches to which to escape. Entertainment is low-key and days are given over to the beach, sea and a quiet stroll.

Villas are casual, well-made thatched wooden bungalows with a barefoot spirit, natural materials, and beachcomber fittings. Beach villas lead onto the sand, water villas have large decking that stretches out on stilts over the sea. The Balinese spa has beds overlooking the water and the resort's swimming pool is designed to mirror the shape of the beach.

There's a huge variety of imaginative cuisine of the highest standards and the service from the waiting staff is impeccable. There's a friendly dive shop and a chance to understand more of the local community with staff-guided visits to the neighbouring island.
