Given the authenticity of landlocked Soller a few kilometres inland, it would be hard to imagine that Soller's outlet to the sea would be anything other than the quintessential Mallorcan fishing village and yachting harbour, arranged around an almost perfect horseshoe shaped bay.
The Tramuntana mountains rear up behind the pretty port which has, in recent years, been the welcome recipient of an injection of municipal cash.
The sea-front is being redeveloped, the Jumeirah Group have opened a luxury hotel and adjustments are being made to the tram line.
