London to Paris to Venice, via Verona
On overnight Paris to Venice Simplon-Orient-Express journeys, complimentary Eurostar tickets between London St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord will be included for those guests wishing to start or end their journey in the UK. For those guests connecting the two journeys on the same day, a driver with signage will be waiting to transfer guests between Paris Gare du Nord, where Eurostar services from the UK arrive, and Paris Gare de L’Est , where Venice Simplon-Orient Express services depart.
A more elegant itinerary might include a night in Paris before your journey on this icon of the rails, allowing you to enjoy the many delights of the French capital and to avoid same-day connections.
Our travel experts can arrange overnight accommodation in Paris. A transfer from your chosen hotel to Paris Gare de L’Est, the following day, will be included. The Paris to Venice services generally run from early March to early December. The Paris to Venice service departs Paris Gare de L’Est at 17h00 and arrives into Venice Santa Lucia station at 16h30 one day later.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express calls into Verona shortly before its arrival in Venice. Opera lovers might like to alight for a short break to enjoy wonderful productions of world-famous operas at the Arena di Verona. As a rule, from mid-June to early September, the arena welcomes productions of Cavalleria Rusticana, Aida, Turandot, La Traviata and Nabucco alongside individual appearances and recitals from stars of the world of opera. To enhance your holiday experience why not pre-book extra travel experiences and excursions. We can arrange a full array of special services from seats at the opera and tickets for museums and galleries to tours of the Grand Canal, Gondola Serenades, a sunset sailing across the San Marco Basin or an escorted private tour of the Basilica of St Mark and the Pala d’Oro.

Paris to Portofino, June 2024
For the first time in history, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is heading to the Ligurian coast, directly connecting two iconic destinations –Paris and Portofino –through the romance of the rail.
Winding through the French countryside and along the coastlines of the French and Italian Rivieras, the breathtaking journey will conclude at Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino. Upon arriving, guests will experience a one-off private five course dinner on the terrace of Splendido created by Jean Imbert, one of Europe’s most revered chefs that will capture the spirit of the trip through the ingredients of the region.
This historic journey will connect two of Europe's most legendary locations, from the high-culture of Paris to the Italian villeggiatura heartland of Portofino, via some of the most picturesque rural and coastal landscapes in France and Italy.
Paris to Portofino, June 2024
From the moment guests wake up in Cannes to the sunrise over the sea, to the second they step off in Santa Margarita Ligure, they will be immersed in breath-taking coastal beauty. A Venice Simplon-Orient-Express route as never seen before, the train will begin by weaving through the French countryside overnight, passing Lyon and Avignon before reaching Marseille and continuing along the coast to Cannes and Nice. Crossing into Italy through Ventimiglia, Savona and Genoa, the route will finally arrive in Santa Margherita Ligure before the guests head to Splendido by car or boat.
